About Kittery
ZIP Code 03904

Kittery - 0 miles <<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>> Fort Kent 543 miles

Kittery is the self-proclaimed “Gateway to Maine”. Its population is slightly less then 10,000. It includes the outlying areas of Kittery Point and Isle of Shoals.

Los Angeles Class submarines are repaired and refurbished at the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard (even though Portsmouth is in New Hampshire).

Entering Kittery from Hew Hampshire requires crossing the Piscataqua River using one of three bridges. The 6 lane Piscataqua River Bridge carries I-95 traffic 135 feet over the water. The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge is a double decker rail and auto lift bridge, coming from the Portsmouth Circle via the US Route 1 Bypass. US Route 1 crosses the river on the Memorial Bridge, which rises to 170 feet every half hour during the summer to allow boat traffic.

The Kittery Outlets is a shopper’s heaven, with 100’s of stores right on US Route 1.
