The Kennebunks, Maine – Although our focus for this tour is towns on US Route 1, it is almost impossible to separate Kennebunk from Kennebunkport. Also part of The Kennebunks is the small town of Arundel, neatly nestled around the other two towns.

The town of Kennebunk is situated right on US Route 1. Main Street is an active road with local shops, stores, lodging and restaurants. Outside the town proper, chain stores and restaurants have been added.

Kennebunkport used to be a little known, quiet community that once had a sign at its town line that said it was a Typical Colonial Village. But with the Bush Family claiming this village as their summer residence, K’port has been placed on the map. With its many chic shops, quaint restaurants and lavish oceanfront homes, K’port is no longer a sleepy little fishing town.
